He said and tried to show the class division between rich and poor through the dish, a mixture of two very popular cheap instant noodles. It is popular among kids no matter what class they come from, but the wealthy family in the film does not enjoy chapaguri in the typical way.
Chapaguri, now the world's New Favorite Korean Dish
South Korean food and instant noodle maker Nongshim moved quickly to ride the "parasite" wave, packing a cup version of "chapaguri" for release in U.S. grocery stores, a mixed recipe for two major ramen labels from the scene of nail-biting at the 2020 Academy.
Chappaguri, which is translated as ram-don (ramen and udon) in the movie, is a mixture of the company's jajangmyeon (Korean-stype black bean noodle) Chapagetti and spicy noodle.
The food sparked curiosity around the world as the rich housewife asked the maid to cook by adding a sirloin steak cube, one of several scenes highlighting the tension of wealth and class.
[Recipe] Chapaguri
1. You will need one pack of black bean instant noodles and another pack of spicy seafood instant noodles.
Boil both the noodles and the vegetable packs in water.
2, After a few minutes, when the noodles are cooked, drain most of the water, but leave a small amount in the pot.
3. Then simply add both sauces to the noodles, mix, and enjoy.
4. You can top it with anything you like, but for true Parasite ram-don, you must add steak.
Hanwoo beef is too expensive for many people, which is exactly why Bong Joon-ho included it in the film. For everyone else, any beef will do.
